This time around it was a trip that was planned well in advance and that also comes with it's nuances.
Vivek and myself had decided on a road trip from Bangalore however the Cauvery water dispute between the 2 states flared up and the borders were closed with sporadic incidents of violence. So we ended up doing a train journey to Chennai and took a taxi from there to Windflower resort and spa where we spent 3 nights.
We spent an evening going over to the french quarters and the Aurobindo Ashram and dined at a few unique joints. We happened to run into a local lady who was more than enthusiastic to give her advise on the joints to visit for dining. The one that may stand out is Zuka Choco-la and the chocolate spoon was to die for. We may have never known about this place had we not met this lady.
