Pockets of "developed country" mixed in a sea of "third world"

Yes, India is great and there is money and growth all over.

You can live in a US type home, work in a US type office, send your kids to US type schools and get treated in a US type hospital but the biggest kicker is the connection between them goes through a 3rd world country where the roads are exploding at the seams, there is a poverty, there are just concrete jungles and greenery is sparse ( my son observed "there is no grass in India acha !!") , people are selfish and it is a survival of the mean and fittest, pollution is rampant and politicians seem to be at the same place as when I moved out.

R2I

R2I

There are 3 reasons I decided to R2I.

PARENTS
PARENTS
PARENTS

If I could find a way to take care of them personally, I would have never returned.

There are 3 reasons that make the R2I decision tough

KIDS
KIDS
and only KIDS (Yes, I get my most support in my wife)

We find ourselves torn between what would be best for the kids while making ourselves available to serve the needs of aging parents.

Some of the things that helped convince ourselves on our decision to R2I are

1)      Kids, they are young and can be molded. Growing up in India can prepare you for survival anywhere in the world… not quite literally but close.
2)      Having being brought up in India ourselves, we managed to make a good lives, we hope the same would apply to the kids.
3)      The doors are always open for the kids to R2U when they become old enough to decide. This is probably the only time I would be dictating where they stay.
4)      Matha, pitha, guru, devam all the rest is down the list.
5)     Being close to Parents
6)      Growth and opportunities in India are appealing.
7)      Lots of friends we know personally have moved back successfully
