This has certainly turned out to be a unique year in many ways. The unprecedented lock down due to the corona pandemic is unlike anything that the world has ever seen before with milestone birthdays for my parents and a daughter ready to embrace college.
I have never seen the streets of Bangalore so quite and peaceful with birds returning and waking you up to their morning chirps. There is always the occasional driver who thinks honking is their right as he speeds on the empty roads.
Amidst this, Daddy and Amma reached a mile stone. Amma turned 70 while Daddy turned 80 within a span of 3 weeks of each other. The plan was to bring them to HRBR and have a nice meal together and celebrate. However the lock down and the virus scare made us all cautious. Veena cooked an elaborate Sadhya for amma and we delivered it to Chandravihar. For Daddy's Neetu baked a banana cake and Veena was solo in the celebration as the lock down prevented any group travel and the roads were barricaded as well.
In fact Veena was stopped by the cops both on her way up and return questing why she was on the road.
Nevertheless, it was priceless and memorable just being there for them and seeing their content smile on their faces that made all other accomplishments pale in comparison.
Blessed, and wishing them good health as the years roll by.
